在本片中，羅依德扮演了一名外出打拼的服裝店店員。為了向未婚妻掩飾自己並沒有在城市中出人頭地但同時又要和她結婚，請來了自己當建築工人的朋友來表演徒手爬大樓為自己的服裝店招攬顧客，但因為建築工人和交通警的過節因此無法爬樓，情急之下羅依德只能自己上陣，引發一連串引人發笑的故事。
