《大城无小事——城市真英雄2021》是继《巡逻现场实录2018》、《大城无小事——派出所的故事2019》之后，又一档全景式警务侦查纪录片。作为东方卫视的警务纪录片三部曲之一，这一季节目将视线从基层派出所事务转向了打击犯罪，集中聚焦申城的刑事、经济类案件。“城市真英雄”节目组将蹲点驻守上海市各刑侦、经侦队伍，深入刑事科学、反侵财、反诈、便衣、重案、缉毒等侦查队伍，全程跟拍破案过程。观众可以通过镜头随民警奔赴抓捕嫌犯的第一现场，深临其境感受紧张氛围，还原惊险抓捕一刻。
