The first woman is his wife, who began their marriage with the hope that having children would transform her unfaithful husband into a devoted father. When his philandering ways persisted, she turned to having more children, believing it to be the solution. The other woman, his mistress, refuses to be cast aside and is determined to bear his child, desperate to secure her place in his life.
